ARTIST STATEMENT
Photography is my vehicle of self-expression and an invaluable creative outlet for me. There are so many things that inspire me to photograph: how light outlines the veins on a leaf, or the curve of a shoulder, documenting a moment, or a place. Sometimes it’s about lines and shapes and color. But mostly it’s about noticing things that often go unnoticed, or seeing old things in a new way. The ability to freeze moments, recreate experiences and provoke emotions has always been intriguing to me and continues to inspire me to shoot.
An abundance of light, a scarcity of light, how light defines the subject, how light is the subject, how light and subject get together and boogie a bit. Into the Light is a celebration of all of these things.
