Ant M Lobo (they/them) is a Virgo sun/Scorpio moon, Raleigh native, and at VAE they are the Co-Director and the Director of Exhibitions. Outside they are an artist, writer, gardener, and trivia buff. If you’re looking for them you can find them anywhere where there is art, a good Americano, and/or seltzer (preferably all three).
Ant studied studio art with a concentration in analog processes in photography at Appalachian State University. Their studio practice and independent research are focused on the Queer history and legacy of Black Mountain College, gender, and ecology. Ant was most recently the guest editor of the Journal of Black Mountain College Studies: Volume 14, Queer Life At Black Mountain College.
