Paget Marion Blythe works in acrylic, mixed media and collage. The tension between abstraction, texture and assemblage of meaning underlies her recent paintings. Paget is a self-taught artist who earned her degrees in Comparative Literature with a focus on 19th century Aestheticism. Her work considers the ways in which storytelling underlies our experience of the world as an ever shifting collage of visual information that forms identity. The narratives that weave through life and art highlight the interplay between self and expression. Paget currently lives in Pittsboro, North Carolina and works out of her studio in Siler City, North Carolina. She has exhibited in juried shows nationally and throughout the Triangle and also partners with interior designers for commissions and original works.
