An exhibition by Julia Einstein, Julie Dyer Holmes, Alison Hurwitz, Dawn Marie Rozzo, with guest artists Perla Gerez Hernandez and Ashley Holloman is on view through November. The artist reception is on November 7, from 2-5 pm.
“We engage the senses with a dialogue between art, poetry, and the natural world. It’s all about exploring the layers of the landscape by creating an experience that is beyond seeing.”
Julia Einstein paints botanicals at super scale, transforming flowers into icons. Inspired by her road travels, Julie Dyer Holmes creates expansive cloudscapes. Dawn Marie Rozzo’s mixed-media work explores the subtleties and mysteries found in her garden. A new work by Dawn Rozzo, made in collaboration with the Governor Morehead School for the Blind, invites visitors to experience art through touch. Ekphrastic poetry by published poet Alison Hurwitz illuminates the visual art through vivid, descriptive language.
