VAE is a community cultural arts organization. That means we work WITH our community to program the most impactful and relevant projects, exhibitions, programming, and events. We cannot do our best work without your involvement! PITCH, PLEASE! is a platform for you to present the ideas you’d like to see in our community. This open call-for-proposals that acts as an avenue for you to help plan a better future WITH us.

WHAT TO PITCH?

  • A suggestion that you’d like to see VAE incorporate into our existing work

  • An idea you’d like to do in collaboration with VAE

  • Something you’d like to see exist in our community, whether VAE is the right partner or not, we want to help (not to brag, but we have a lot of friends)!


Our team is here to help, filled with knowledge, and has access to resources like space, funding opportunities, and community partners. Don’t hesitate to bring your biggest, boldest, dream-project ideas to the table! We know that once a good idea pops up, the creative juices get to flowing and you may feel inclined to submit a number of times! Please refrain from submitting more than one application in a 6 month period.

SOME DISCLAIMERS

  1. If you are a representative for a brand, business, or organization, please do not fill out this form. Contacting us through this form is preferred.

  2. VAE does not have the capacity to offer solo shows.

  3. VAE only exhibits work that was made in the last 5 years.

  4. This is not a way for VAE to take credit for your ideas or your work, just a simple way to make our resources accessible to the community.

  5. VAE does not exhibit or financially support work that co-opts the story of a community without representation from that community acting in a decision making role.

  6. VAE does not have the capacity to provide feedback for every submission. You may never hear from us but that shouldn’t discourage you!

ACCESSIBILITY
VAE’s gallery space is physically accessible and we strive to make the submission process accessible as well. We encourage anyone to enter our open call exhibitions.
