DOUBLE DUTY - a creative writing workshop

For the month of May VAE will be present TACTILE a multi-sensory exhibition in its Main Gallery space. Award-winning historical mystery novelist Suzanne Adair has agreed to host a creative and narrative writing workshop in connection with this exhibition. How do you make setting, description, and imagery work double duty in your short story or novel? Suzanne will take attendees through a fun exercise to demonstrate the importance of recruiting their readers’ senses in picking and honing a setting. Workshop attendees will use the TACTILE exhibition as inspiration, experiencing the art with more than just their eyes and using what they experience with their additional senses as inspiration.
This workshop is funded in part by the Mary Duke Biddle Foundation, which helps to keep the registration fee affordable. Registration is $10 for current VAE members and $15 for non-members*.
