Do you work in exhibitions? This workshop is for you!
You will leave the CREATING SPACE workshop with knowledge about how to plan, install, and market accessible exhibitions. Presenters from three venues who produce and host exhibitions will talk about the teams they assemble, where the issue of accessibility comes up in the exhibition planning process, and give an example of something AWESOME they have done recently to include more people in their exhibits. In addition Arts Access will present information about must-know knowledge for communicating with people with disabilities, resources to increase your programmatic accessibility, and descriptions of popular accommodations.
Presenters were chosen from venues of all sizes, so at least one presenter will be from an organization with similar resources to your own.
The workshop will be hosted at VAE in Downtown Raleigh, right in the middle of VAE's multi-sensory and accessible exhibition, TACTILE.
