Reflex Arc is an experiment in the definition and expectation of a band. While Bob plays 3-4 instruments (alto & tenor saxophones, bass clarinet, electric guitar) over the course of the set, Ginger moves within both internal/body-based and external/architectural/environmental landscapes.
This range of instruments and performance modes help both the performers and the audience discover the different environments they’re all sharing at once.
Reflex Arc has been a site-specific, improvisational band/performance project of Ginger Wagg and Crowmeat Bob (aka Robert Pence) since 2005.
Together, Crowmeat & Wagg have performed at the Pilot Light (Knoxville, TN) and Revolve gallery (Asheville, NC) as well as many places across the Triangle: Neptune's, Prisma Video, FLAG light installation by Lincoln Hancock (Raleigh); Nightlight Bar & Club, All Day Records, Savage Weekend (Carrboro/Chapel Hill); The Carrack Modern Art & The Shed (Durham).
