☆☆ We are hosting a full day of all things awesome—Awesome Foundation that is! ☆☆

VAE is home to the RDU Chapter of the Awesome Foundation, an international organization that empowers (and pays!) creative thinkers to dream up ideas that make their communities more, well, awesome! VAE awards $1000 every single month to folks who care about community and think outside the box!

Now it’s time to celebrate the projects that have been funded so far, and encourage more folks to step up and be Awesome! Join us October 25 for a full day of creativity and Awesome!

8:30 - 10 AM @ Moore Square
Join us for a collaboration between Awesome Foundation and CreativeMornings RDU as Christina Lorena Weisner kicks off our day by discussing the floating art and science lab she built and then floated down the Neuse River with funds from the Awesome Foundation.
☆Read more about Christina's project HERE.
☆RSVP for CreativeMornings HERE.

10 AM @ Moore Square

100 CreativeMorning attendees will be given a gift that will help to spread Awesome throughout the city, but you have to be there in order to get in on the action!
☆RSVP for CreativeMornings HERE.

10AM - 6PM @ random locations throughout the Triangle
Previous Awesome Foundation grant recipients will be doing pop-up performances, interactive activities, and have their work on display for all to see for this Awesome Day! A full schedule and map coming soon.

6 - 8 PM @ Moore Square
PITCH NIGHT! Five Awesome Foundation applicants will be selected to pitch their ideas live to our foundation trustees and the general public. Two pitches will be given $1,000 to go forth and be awesome, one selected by the foundation trustees and one selected by the audience. Submit your Awesome application by end of day on October 13 to be considered to pitch live. (More info below!)

The simplest and most spur-of-the-moment ideas can start a movement and build community! We think those ideas are important and we want to hear them! Awesome Raleigh Durham funds creative ideas that are specific, public, and spark thought in a meaningful way for the Triangle community. In other words, applications that match the following criteria have the best chance of being funded:

> The project is joyful, audacious, exciting, thought-provoking, and/or spontaneous
> The final project takes place within the Triangle area of North Carolina
> The final project available for the public to enjoy
> The project has a timeline that begins within one year of funding being awarded
> The project scale can be achieved with the $1,000 grant vs. the $1,000 going toward a much larger funding need

We do not claim ownership or future rights to your project, nor do we wish the funds to be repaid if things do not go as planned. We just want to see how awesome you can be with your idea and some support!

Anyone planning a project in the Triangle area that matches the loose criteria above. This includes any individual, non-incorporated groups, or organizations.

The application is intentionally simple to allow the largest array of ideas to be funded. We encourage applications for spontaneous ideas and do not require that you have everything perfectly planned before submitting your application.

Awesome Raleigh Durham would not be possible without our fantastic trustees who pool their funds to provide grants to support creative ideas!
